Sprain (Ankle)

Sprain– a wrench or twist the ligaments of (an ankle, wrist, or other joint) violently so as to cause pain and swelling but not dislocation.

The first thing to do when accidentally sprain(ankle):
▪Ask for help to support you
▪Avoid activities that cause pain, swelling or discomfort.
▪Use an ice pack or ice slush bath immediately for 15 to 20 minutes and repeat every two to three hours while you’re awake. …
▪Compression. To help stop swelling, compress the ankle with an elastic bandage until the swelling stops. …
▪Elevation.
▪Rest.

Put a cold compress in the sprained ankle.
Ask for help to put an elastic bandage into your sprain(ankle) for the compression and to stop swelling.
Lastly, go to the rest room or safe place to elavate your sprained ankle and so you
could get some rest.
